When it comes to doing an industrial paint job, it’s generally on too large a scale for a business owner to take care of herself. Hiring industrial painting contractors for the job is a pretty easy choice to make, but finding the right one can seem daunting and like a struggle. Since it’s such a large scale project and hiring the wrong company can be a costly mistake, here are three things a business owner absolutely needs to look at before hiring commercial painters.
1. Qualifications and Insurance
This one is obvious — you need to look at qualifications before hiring any services, but this actually goes for professional painters too. Some states have licensing programs or something similar, so check into that. Also check to make sure that the painting company has both workers’ compensation and liability insurance to protect yourself and your property.
2. Employees
After you’ve checked for licensing and insurance, you also need to find out what type of employees the company hires and who is going to be doing the actual work. If the company keep regular employees, this is better than if the company hires sub contractors instead. This way, you know that the crew knows what they’re doing and will do a fine job.
3. Portfolios
Not all painting companies are necessarily going to have portfolios, but you should look at one if they do. Having a look at existing work is going to give you an idea of the work that the company is capable of doing and could give you a few ideas about what you’d like to see at your business. Furthermore, a reputable company should have no problem showing you previous work.
