Spray polyurethane foam installation is the installation of insulation that provides energy efficiency and comfort. It is constructed by mixing a polyol/resin and an isocyanate to create a foam barrier that serves as both insulation and a barrier to environmental elements and moisture. In this video, West Roofing Systems use a spray polyurethane foam (SPF) installation to perform SPF roof coatings. The benefits are numerous. This roof coating will resist heat, and reduce the amount of unwanted air seeping through the roof and its joints.
West Roofing Systems perform SPF roof coatings here to show how simple it is. SPF roof coatings will adhere to almost anything. In this application, the SPF installation is applied to over 20k square feet in a period of five days. When the SPF roof coatings are applied, the foam will expand to approximately 1 to 1.5 inches thick. After the SPF has been applied, a very thin layer of elastomeric silicone will be applied to protect the roof from environmental elements. Within five days, the entire project was done.
